Dr.
McFadden was born and raised in Michigan where he did his undergraduate
studies at Michigan State University and received his Bachelor of
Science degree in zoology in 1975. He then went on to graduate at the
top of his class from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry
receiving his DDS degree in 1979. During his dental studies he was
inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental society for
superior achievement in dentistry. Upon graduation he received an award
from the American Academy of Periodontology for excellence in
periodontics. Having become a proficient clinician as a dental student,
he was asked to stay on as a clinical instructor in the dental school,
which he did for two years. In 1982 he left Michigan and continued his
dental education by completing a much sought after general practice
residency program at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Hospital in
Westwood California.
In 1983 Dr. McFadden established his private dental practice in West Hollywood where he continues to provide excellent service to the community. Over the years he has honed his skills in providing lifelike cosmetic restorations to improve his patient’s smiles. The confidence, experience and friendliness of Dr. McFadden and his staff enables them to provide gentle dentistry utilizing state of the art equipment and the latest techniques available today in a relaxed and comfortable environment. He uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation, along with music or TV with stereo headphones, which allows him to help patients who shy away from the dentist due to anxiety.
Professionally
Dr. McFadden is active in the American Dental Association, the
California Dental Association and the Los Angeles Dental Society. He serves as president of the Southern
California Dental Guild study club.
In
his free time he enjoys gardening, painting and carpentry. Having grown
up near Lake Huron he enjoys many water sports like sailing, windsurfing,
swimming and scuba diving. During the winter he is an avid skier and
snow boarder. He also spends time bike riding, in-line skating, and
hiking with his dog Will in Runyon Canyon.
